Keith Slack began training in 1990 when he was 9 years old. He reached Black Belt level in 1996 and promoted to Second Degree Black Belt in 2000. Over the years he has entered many tournaments and particularly enjoy sword techniques. He says that seeing the physical and mental improvements students make during their time at the school is very rewarding for both the students and the instructors. He has seen literally hundreds of students pass through the school and many reach Black Belt. He enjoys sharing the positive experiences with the students, many of which have issues and interests in common with him. He has also seen the school progress from being in one racquet ball court with only four students to becoming the highest point-earning school for three consecutive years at the UK Tournaments. This transformation has taken place under the auspices of the Chief instructor, Darren Hart.
His black belt journeys have truly been positive experiences and his very proud and happy to have accomplished these goals. He looks forward to continuing his training and, although the training itself is more important than the color of the belt or the rank of the instructor, he will hopefully promote to Third Degree Black Belt in Korea in 2005. |
